Description

Toshiba 3000 TP Series UPS

Modular Precision. Uncompromised Uptime. 40 kW to 200 kW.

Powering Tomorrow With Modular Precision and Reliability Today

The 3000 TP Series is a true online double-conversion UPS built for facilities that can’t afford downtime — and don’t have square footage to spare. Leveraging Toshiba’s 7th-generation CSTBT IGBT technology, it delivers 96.5% efficiency and unity power factor in a transformerless design that scales from 40 kW to 200 kW as your load grows.

Every module is hot-swappable. Every service point is front-accessible. And the entire cabinet fits against a wall in 23.5 inches of width.

Why the 3000 TP Series

Unity Power Factor — You Buy kW, You Get kW

A 200 kVA rating means 200 kW of real, usable output. There’s no derating penalty and no oversizing to compensate for a 0.9 power factor. For high-density IT and modern server loads, that means the capacity you specify is the capacity you can actually deploy — which changes the math on how much UPS you need to buy in the first place.

Combined with a transformerless double-conversion topology, the result is continuous, clean, regulated power with higher efficiency and a substantially smaller physical footprint than legacy transformer-based systems.

96.5% Efficiency Across the Board

The 3000 TP achieves 96.5% AC-AC efficiency in full double-conversion mode — not in a compromised bypass or economy state. Lower losses mean lower utility spend and a lighter thermal load on your cooling infrastructure, which compounds over a 20-year design life.

For sites willing to trade a degree of conditioning for additional savings, ECO Mode and High Efficiency Hibernate are available as standard operating modes.

Modular, Scalable, and Hot-Swappable

The system is built around 40 kVA/kW UPS Power Modules (UPMs) in a 19″ × 3U form factor. Populate one to six of them inside a 42U rack:

Configuration Modules Capacity
Entry 1 40 kW
2 80 kW
3 120 kW
4 160 kW
Full 5 200 kW
Redundant 6 200 kW N+1

Modules slide in and out on rails and can be added or removed without interrupting the critical load. Buy the capacity you need today, add modules as the load grows, and skip the forklift upgrade entirely.

The system is also software-scalable — power modules can be de-rated to smaller capacities via firmware updates and setup files to match a specific kW configuration.

N+1 Redundancy at Any Capacity

N+1 isn’t reserved for the top of the range. The 3000 TP supports N+1 or greater on all kW models — including a single 40 kW load protected by two modules. At the top end, a six-module configuration delivers 200 kW with full N+1 redundancy, so the loss of any one module doesn’t touch the load.

A Footprint That Actually Fits

23.5″ W × 33.5″ D × 78.5″ H. Total front access. Front-to-top airflow. And critically:

  • 0″ rear clearance
  • 0″ side clearance

The 3000 TP installs flat against a wall or shoulder-to-shoulder with adjacent equipment without compromising serviceability — every component that requires access is reached from the front. Required clearances are 36″ front and 16″ top; nothing else.

Paired with a Toshiba MBS and a 480 VDC SCiB™ single-string ESS, a complete system lands at 59 inches total width. That’s a full protected power plant — UPS, maintenance bypass, and energy storage — in less than five feet of wall.

Removable side panels, keyhole-slotted fan plates, mounting rails for seismic anchoring (Japanese Scale 1.0), and forklift-ready base rails round out the mechanical package.

Built for the Long Haul

Component Rated Life
Overall system design life 20 years
DC-link capacitors 15 years
Cooling fans 10 years

The 3000 TP uses brushless DC variable-speed fans with an expected service life of roughly 10 years — versus the 3–5 years typical of AC fans. Fewer fan replacement events over the life of the system means fewer service visits, fewer failure opportunities, and lower lifetime cost.

Additional reliability engineering:

  • Conformal-coated PCBs for protection against humidity, dust, and contaminants
  • Three sources of control power on the bypass circuit; two on each UPS module
  • SCR static bypass rated for 150% load capacity
  • Dead front on live terminations for technician safety
  • Washable air filters at all vented openings, with replacements supported through spare parts
  • Backed by a three-year on-site warranty

Advanced Technology Features

PCB Aging Detection

The system actively monitors board-level component aging, surfacing degradation before it becomes a failure. Predictive rather than reactive.

Self Load Run Back Test & Battery Self Test

Validate inverter and battery performance without external load banks or a scheduled outage window.

Wave Capture

When an anomaly occurs, the HMI captures the waveform 120 ms before and 120 ms after the event — 240 ms of high-resolution data around the disturbance. Instead of guessing what happened, you get the trace. (Timing subject to change.)

7-Inch Touchscreen HMI

A Toshiba-developed graphical interface providing single-line system view, per-module status, battery state of charge, trend logging across past day/week/month, and separate fault and alarm detail screens. Real-time monitoring and control without a laptop or a manual.

RemotEye® 5 IIoT Network Card

Included with every order and pre-installed as standard from December 2026. The RemotEye® 5 brings genuine IIoT capability to the UPS:

  • Machine-learning-based UPS load forecasting
  • Embedded web server for browser-based access
  • Automatic event notification via email
  • Continuous data logging
  • 1 Gbps Ethernet interface
  • Zero Trust cybersecurity protocols

Mounting hardware is included as standard. Bluetooth communication and EPO are also supported.

Additional Capabilities

  • Frequency converter capable
  • Power conditioner capable
  • Generator friendly
  • LED status indications
  • Up to four systems configurable in parallel (MMS) for 800 kW total (parallel capability offered following initial release)

Energy Storage: SCiB™ Lithium-Ion Ready

The 3000 TP operates on a 480 VDC link and is compatible with VRLA, standard lithium-ion, and Toshiba SCiB™ Energy Storage Systems.

Choosing SCiB™ over traditional VRLA delivers:

  • Longer runtime in the same or smaller footprint
  • Substantially faster recharge
  • Reduced maintenance burden across the battery life cycle
  • A total system footprint under 70 inches with a single-string ESS

Because the ESS is Toshiba-engineered alongside the UPS, the integration is native — not an adapted third-party pairing.

Applications

The 3000 TP Series is optimized for critical power environments where space, efficiency, and serviceability all matter at once:

  • Edge Data Centers — High-density racks, constrained rooms, unity PF headroom
  • IT Systems & Server Rooms — Modular growth without re-engineering the room
  • Small & Mid-Size Business — Enterprise-grade protection scaled to real SMB loads
  • Commercial Facilities — Zero-clearance installation in mechanical and electrical rooms
  • Healthcare — Continuous operation, N+1 redundancy, predictive diagnostics
